Sunway Lost World of Tambun
During This monkey year of 2016 , I step on Sunway Lost World of Tambun for the first time even Thou it was located just half hour Drive from my hometown house at Kanthan Baru , Chemor . Before this , I tried to plan for few times to visit here but not really work out end of the day .
At last we went there on fifth day of chinese new year , Entering the Lost World of Tambun , visitors face sheer cliffs covered with jungle vegetation that form the background of this picturesque theme-park. These towering hills with their limestone walls, pierced by caves and crevices are amazingly unique in Malaysia .
The Lost World of Tambun has been around since 2005 , Now this theme park has both wet and dry parks to enjoy . Total do have 6 adventure to discover in Lost World of Tambun. They are the Water Park, Amusement Park, Tiger Valley, Lost World Petting Zoo, Lost World Hot Springs & Spa and Tin Valley . Each park have its own attraction so that the whole family would enjoy it together .
All of them gave me a beautiful pose to snap , All the animal here are well trained with no harms around .
Tin mining is one of the oldest industries in Malaya and Lost World Tin Valley aims to educate today’s generation in the heritage of tin mining in Ipoh . It was the latest attraction in the Tin Mining area which is equipped with a palung (sluice box) , an original gravel pump monitor and a large area for young visitors to experience “Dulang Washing”(Tin Panning) just like the old days. Visitors can also learn and read about the history of tin mining and see real artifacts from the past at along the road .
There are examples of tin-ore in limestone in Perak, mostly seen in the mines of the Kinta Valley. The Kinta Valley was the largest producer of tin ore in the world in the first half of the 20th century. Most of the workings were open cast, and remains of these sites can still be seen today, although there are not many active workings now. A dredge can be seen near Tanjung Tualang, see below .
The Dulang Teahouse famous with their charcoal toast bread with kaya and butter . This tea house serves kopi kampung (village coffee) , telur ayam (soft boiled eggs) , biscuit lutot (hard biscuit) , roti bakar (toast bread) and roasted rice tea . It's what the tin miners eat during tea break in the old days .
This is called the Needle of Tambun which is also known as the "Pencil Hill" because it looks like a Standing stick from the ground . The beautiful limestone formed from several thousand of years ago and 8 meters high .
Ipoh Food Street at Lost World of Tambun , Modelled after a typical street in Ipoh town, Ipoh Street at Lost World of Tambun is every bit as charming as the original. With popular street food and snacks, Ipoh Street is a welcomed sight after a good dip at the hot springs .
